No one 너 밖엔 없어 (112611 FT ISLAND Encore Concert Day 1)
I arrived at the concert venue at around 3:30PM; there was already a long line at the concert goods. I got my paper and checked the ones I want to buy before lining up to the concert goods tent. My concert goods totaled ₩62,000; cape, t-shirt & luminous wristband. I wanted to line up for the light stick but the line was too long, so I opted to just drink coffee and wait until the staffs call us to line up by number.
At 5PM, staff called the fans to line up already according to the number. We were already inside the concert hall at around 5:50PM. More than an hour early for the concert, but since it was cold, it was better to stay and wait inside the hall.
At exactly 7PM, the lights went off and they started playing the VCR. The VCR was basically about the concerts FT Island held since 2007 and stopped at the 2011.11 for the concert that’s happening that day. It was lights out again and the boys went to the stage, with Jaejin being the most noticeable even in the dark because of his hair.
What they were wearing:
- Jonghun – T-shirt and suit (blue, I think)
- Hongki – White wifebeater and black velvet suit
- Minhwan – White T-shirt and vest
- Jaejin – White long sleeves shirt and black military jacket
- Seunghyun – White shirt and glittery(really glittery!) suit
The concert kicked off with I Hope (바래). It was one of my personal favorite so I was really happy. The next song was Bing Bing Bing (빙빙빙). It wasn’t included in my personal favorites but I it’s definitely one of my favorite songs when sang live. Hongki just go crazy when he performs the song! He would run and whats not, plus it gets everybody jumping. But before the song was played, if my translation is correct, he was asking what is the type that the girls like the most to the audience. And then멋쟁이 Vs 예쁜이 (FTI VS PRI) was played afterwards.
Then it was introduction time. Hongki told his members to introduce themselves one by one. Jonghun introduced himself first, followed by Minhwan. Minhwan, I think, has the most number of Japanese fans present. He has the loudest cheers from the Japanese. Both of them told us to just enjoy the show and have a good time. I didn’t quite get it, but Hongki joked with Jaejin before Jaejin was able to introduce himself. So Jaejin was acting all hurt and mad. I think the joke was about his hair. After Jaejin introduced himself, Hongki asked Seunghyun on what night club did he come from. The joke he made was in reference to the glittery suit that Seunghyun was wearing.
And then they proceeded to the next batch of songs, starting with I Will Have You (널 갖겠다). I love this song especially when Hongki reaches out for his member. He reached out for Jaejin first! Then Love Love Love (사랑사랑사랑) was sang. After that Hongki said that the next batch of songs will be Japanese for the Japanese fans. A lot of protests were heard from the fans. They said that this is Korea and they should only sing Korean songs. But Hongki just brushed it off. Then he took off his jacket and went on top of a platform behind Minhwan. That’s when he performed 4 songs in a FREAKIN WHITE WIFE BEATER. Yes, excuse my pervy ways, but his nipples were popping out from his wife beater. Cuhhhrazzzy! I’m not really a big fan of FTI Japanese songs since I understand and can sing Korean songs better. I was only pumped up when they sang the last two Japanese songs: Let It Go & Flower Rock. I love these songs. The boys went backstage after the Japanese songs.
A VTR played while they were changing clothes backstage. The VTR is basically about what happened to FT Island during this year, starting from January. They even included that FT I 막내 cuties graduated from High School already and will enter the same university next year. They stopped the narration at November to say that it’s the Encore concert. Words flashed before the VTR ends. They just basically told us that the Encore concert would be their last big gig in Korea and they’ll be back and active again on Korea this January, thank you and I love you. The boys are just the sweetest.
The 2nd part of the concert started off with the acoustic performance of Sunshine Girl wherein Hongki encouraged the fans to sing for him. So some parts where sang by fans. You just gotta love the acoustic performance of FT Island. The blending, harmony and everything is just perfect! Then the next is my personal favorite, I Confess (고백합니다). We got the shock of our life when Minhwan sang the bridge of I Confess, showcasing his powerful vocals. Totally adorable. I cried during this song because silver confetti fell from above and the moment was so perfect. Perfect boys + perfect song = Perfection at its best. The next song that they performed was Even Your Tears (그대 눈물까지도). My second favorite song from the Memory album. I was really excited, and Hongki even said that it was hard to make it acoustic but they tried their very best. Really worth the wait! Love the semi-acoustic song going on. The next song that they sang was 여자는 몰라. I think around this time when I looked up at the 2nd floor, trying to find the boys’ moms. Because during Play Concert, I spotted their moms during the 2nd part of their concert. I got the surprise of my life when I saw Yonghwa waving his pentastick near the left side of the second floor. I turned my attention back to FT Island and when I looked back again, I made out the other people beside Yonghwa. They were already standing and now, all of them are with their lightsticks, they turned out to be the other members of CN Blue. (PS. I tweeted that the whole CN Blue has their penstaticks, what I meant was lightsticks. And it kind of circulated. Forgive me, I was high and delusional at that time.) They sang: 신사동 그사람, 모두다 사랑하리 and그대는 인형처럼 웃고 있지만. I can’t be sure, but I think before they played그대는 인형처럼 웃고 있지만 that they let the fans greet CN Blue properly since a lot of fans already noticed their presence. Hongki just reminded Primadonnas that Yes, CN Blue is really handsome, but since it’s their concert, fans should only look at them. The way he said it was really cute, though a lot of fans still had their eyes glued to CN Blue leaving Hongki to whine. And I burst out laughing because of that. So I shouted to Jaejin who was in front of me, “재진 오빠만 봐요” (I’ll only look at Jaejin Oppa) and pointed to him. And to which he replied by pointing back at me. IT MADE MY NIGHT. Even though we had just only like two eye contact for the night, which is insanely few compared to the Play Concert, I was happy with the pointing thing.
Before Don Quixote (돈키호테의 노래)Hongki also said that they’re down to their last three songs. I misheard it and thought he said it was their last song. So amidst the “aaawwww” and “안돼” (no) of the fans, I shouted angrily “왜! 삼십 분에 남았어! (Why? There’s still 30 minutes left!) Jaejin who heard it just laughed, but to my amazement, Seunghyun who also heard me, mimicked me on the freakin’ microphone. I WENT WTF. He said the exact same thing I said, even ending it with a pout like I did. And after that laughed like a hyena. YES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. SEUNGHYUN JUST TROLLED ME IN MY FACE. They sang Troublemaker afterwards.
Then before Primadonna, Hongki said that it’s also their last song. He asked Jonghun to show some sexiness to the fans, to which Jonghun complied by playing first few notes of Primadonna. And Hongki made a sexy wave while singing “시작해 불까” part of Primadonna. They said their goodbyes after, but we all know, there’s an encore.
After around 3 minutes of shouting for Encore, the boys came out. The first one to came out was Jaejin, who was major excited by the way. He stood at the center of the stage and he seemed to enjoy the attention he was getting from the fans. The other members headed to their instruments, began tuning them and whats not. While Jaejin was still there, standing in the middle of the stage. Hongki then put on Jaejin’s blue bass. And Jaejin introduced himself as the vocalist of the band. While Hongki introduced himself as the bassist of the band. The crazy part is the band actually started performing. And Hongki was messing up bad so the members stopped playing their instrument and looked accusingly to Hongki while saying, “eyyy!”. Embarrassed, Hongki put down the bass and said sorry to the fans. Then they began performing the last 3 songs for encore:사랑앓이, 너 올 때까지 and ended it off with 새들처럼.
The boys gathered at the center stage and said their thanks to the fans. While Jongki couple was talking, SeungJin love at the other side. Poor Minhwan who was standing in the middle with no couple. They told the fans that they’d love to see them again tomorrow.

[FAN ACCOUNT] 082011 FT Island Play! Concert
The things I do for love, you guys have no idea how hard it was to get a ticket for their concert. If there was ticket available for August 21, then I would have gone too. Unfortunately, there was a scarcity of tickets.
After getting lost at Seoul subway system, I arrived at the place around 3:40PM. There were only few people there so I was able to line up immediately for the goods. I only bought the T-shirt and buckle band. The good thing with the venue is that there are lockers outside that people can rent so they won’t have to worry about holding their concert goods and bags throughout the concert.
While I was waiting for announcements on where to line up I met Thea, a Pri from Norway, and learned that she translates for happyislandsubs! We chatted and waited for the announcement. Around 5:00PM, Primadonna Japan fans arrived at the venue after their special fan meeting with the boys. May I add, I was burning with jealousy!
I asked the staff and she told me that they would put letters for the standing position at 5:30PM and people would have to line up behind it. We lined up according to number and they gave out a somewhat small envelope wherein Pris would have to put their camera and cellphone and seal it before going inside the event. Picture taking is strictly prohibited.
When I got inside, I got amazed on how small the place was. And how close I was to the stage. The concert was really more of an indie rock concert setup thus making it more intimate. Someone shouted Wonbin was in the area but I didn’t get to see him. I think I caught a glimpse of Jonghun and Minhwan’s parents and also Seunghyun’s brother. I can’t be sure though, it was dark.
When the clock ticked at 7PM and the concert hasn’t started yet, people got impatient. They were shouting ”홍기아~ 나와!” As a Jaejin-biased I was a bit hurt that the crowd was only chanting for Hongki, but that’s given I guess.
The VTR played around 7:15ish and it was just a picture collage about the word Play. The boys came out and sang Hello Hello at first. Man, Hongki was all over the place. You gotta give it up for him! Very strong stage presence. One of my fave song of Return Album is 널 갖겠다 and that was the next song. Hongki was holding on to the three members. And the audience just got wild.
I wasn’t sure when was the time they actually introduced themselves, after the 3rd song I think? Hongki was thanking fan for the support„ that it has been a while and yet fans were still there to support them.
I think before 빙빙빙 started he asked, ”재미있어요(Are you having fun)?” and the crowd was just wild, loud and enthusiastic. He replied that if everyone was having fun, then everyone on the 2nd floor should be up on their seats now. ‘Cause at that time, there were still a good number of people on the 2nd floor seating. They got up from their seats and the next song started. Hongki just got 10X crazier when빙빙빙 started. He was jumping and getting crazy and all, his favorite spot is on the left side with Jaejin and Seunghyun.
The crowd would follow Hongki and so, people would push to get in front of him when he’s on the left side. Being a Jaejin stan, I went against the flow of the crowd and tried to remain rooted at my place. In front of Jaejin. I think Jaejin saw me and he smiled. More like laugh actually, because it was so obvious that the crowd would flock to where Hongki is and the gaze of them would be on Hongki. I, on the other hand, have my eyes fixated on Jaejin. Super love, the first eye contact of the night <3.
I think after the 10th song or so, after the Japanese songs, they took a break. During this time, they showed us a VTR of the boys. Even though I’m living here in Korea for a half a year now, I still have limited Korean skills. I can’t fully tell what the video was supposed to be, plus the fact that the fans were so noisy, but I think the video was about the “other” side of them or something like that presented in a skit-like format.
The first one was Jonghun, he showed that he is also interested in taking pictures. He showed the photos he’s taken. Which is mostly the faces of the other members. HAHAHA. How cute.
Minhwan made everyone scream because his part is about him being진짜 남자, a real man despite being a maknae. And showed clips of him exercising, more like flexing his arms and sweat dripping. Which was insanely hot. Dayuuuummm.
Jaejin’s other side is like he’s actually a hooligan or some sort. He was always the smart one but he’s actually rebellious. He dressed like the Japanese HS students, but sloppily and gangster-ish. He has the most close-ups in the VTR and thus earning loud screams from the fans.
Seunghyun’s other side is he likes to study about foreign things, especially English. The video showed him reading (he was cute w/ eyeglasses btw) English books and watching Discovery and National Geographic channel. There was a girl who called and spoke in English wherein Seunghyun only replied with I’m fine, thank you. Goodbye.
Hongki’s part was consisted of exchanging text to a certain someone. The certain someone turned out to be Heechul. Chocoball love. And at the end, it showed clips of them practicing.
The second half started with the acoustic performance and all the members were seated. Minhwan was beat-boxing at first as solo and the crowd was chanting Choi Minhwan which made him shy and he was just shaking his head. Sunshine Girl, was the first acoustic performance. The other two was First Kiss and I Confess.
During the First Kiss performance, Hongki looked to his left as if dedicating the song to the person. The fans started to panic because they thought that there was a girl standing near the stage at the right side of the stage. The girl whom Hongki is supposedly dedicating the song. But I was in Standing A position so I can see very clearly what’s on the right side of the stage. And there was no one there but the staffs! I was puzzled. It turns out, Hongki was singing it for Jonghun. And Jonghun upon realizing it, had a disbelieving look on his face and laughed. JONGKI JUST GET MARRIED AND STOP CONFUSING THE FANS, OKAY!
On their 21th song, Hongki said that it was their last song, Primadonna. But the fans were saying AWWWW and가지마. But Hongki just playfully responded that what’s the fuss all about since everyone knows there was going to be an Encore. HAHAHA.
After the Primadonna song, they closed all the lights entirely and the boys hurriedly went to the right side of the stage. Seunghyun, being at the left side of the stage got left out. He was somewhat night blind and he hasn’t even reached half of the stage when he started to move his arms like a blind man. Which was funny and cute. A staff rushed to him with a flashlight and guided him. Just adorbs.
After few minutes of fan chants, the boys went out again and this time, wearing the concert t-shirt. Hongki was in a sleeveless while Minhwan’s sleeves was made into a fringe. Good thing they did that because their arms are so big they won’t fit in, I’m sure. Too bad for Jonghun that they just rolled his sleeves, it was too tight on him. You all know how muscular Jonghun is. The only unaltered ones are Jaejin and Seunghyun’s. They thanked the fans and made a final bow. Really heartwarming.
Basically:
Hongki – Hongki’s really a rocker. He enjoys what he’s doing and was all over the stage. I was impressed on how he didn’t seem to be out of breath after singing like 10 songs consecutively. He was just a ball of energy. Jumping and singing his lungs out.
Seunghyun – The barricade from the stage itself and the people from the first line was so small. It isn’t even noticeable in the pictures. Seunghyun would always step at the edge of the stage and bend while playing the music. He’s literally like 10 CM away from the hands of the fan. He was the sweetest, I think, to the fans. He would wave at them, and smile and do whats not if they call him. When Hongki was making speech during the introductions, he was making heart and winking at the fans in front of him. Fans got wild and he got surprised. He put his hands over his lips motioning for the fans to keep quiet, he then pointed to Hongki and ended it with a cute smile. He was so adorable.
Jonghun – Jonghun is no doubt a sex god. He was making the face when he was playing the guitar. Sweat sripping from his toned arms. Crazzzy crazzzy! He was just smoking, and I normally don’t say this because I thought I got immune to his hotness after seeing him perform for the 5th time. His vibes that night was just so overwhelming not to notice though.
Minhwan – No matter how muscular he got, he will forever be my maknae. He was so adorbs. He would look at the audience once in a while ang give his famous eye smile. He would smile at Jaejin and Hongki when they would come to his place. It’s as if the three of them are talking with their eyes. I got an eye contact with Minhwan during the 6th song. FT vs PRI. I was just staring at Jaejin while crying. Yes, I was crying already on the 6th song. I realized Minhwan was staring, it was weird for him to look at our direction because we were mostly Jaejin fans. I realized he was staring at me. My face was tearstained and I was hiccup-ing already. He must have found me strange because I was the only one crying in the crowd. I looked around me and pointed to myself and I just stared back at him. He then shook his head and made a small smile. I would have been irritated at him for laughing but he’s Minhwan after all.
Jaejin – The love of my life for 4 years already. The boy I loved even before they debuted. It was crazy because his hairstyle was the same, the first time I saw him perform live a year ago. And lately he was playing with his red bass but for that night, he used his blue bass. It was de ja vu for me. I was together with other Jaejin fans. They have placards with them, that even though they can’t see the concert as long as Jaejin can see the placard. They can’t push it upwards because that would be rude to other fans, so they keep it to their face thus blocking the view of the concert. So Jaejin would usually go glance at our place. I can’t remember how many times I had eye contact with him. I must be evil but thank you for the placards blocking the other fans faces, because then he would only see my face. I cried so much during the결혼해줘 song because it is one of my fave FT-Island song. I like it because they have a Marry Marry Marry Me part. Being Mary and a delusional fan, I think that song was made for me. So I cried a river at that time. At the end of the song, Jaejin pointed to me and rolled his hand to a fist and held it near his cheeks. As if telling me not to cry. But that made me cry even harder. After I hope song, the last song, he did the same thing again. I looked around me to make sure I was only one crying. And yes, I find it weird but no one else was crying after the last song. So I was so sure it was me.
Thank you FT Island for being worth 4 years of my dream. I am sure to go to your concert again next year. Or if you have encore concert coming up within this year. You never fail to impress me. I am a proud Primadonna ever since. Thank you. Thank you Lee Jaejin for being the reason why I can still smile. This is cheesy but true. Thank you very much.

FT Island Concert seats sold out in 8 minutes at Interpark.
Fcuking mindfuck, I just refresh the page and voila half of the seats were gone at Interpark. Now, no seats available anymore at Interpark. Mindfcuk. I got a seat on the second floor, I’m not sure if I’m getting it. Waiting for people to cancel their seat for a Standing position A.

Dreams do come true.

Summer vacation is just two weeks away. I just need to blog about the Dream Concert 2011 last May 28, 2011 before I forget everything that happened. And my photos are grabbed from elsewhere because my cam died right before the concert (yes, how stupid of me not to charge it). And my seatmates are still in the process of arranging the photos, thus haven’t uploaded anything at all.
We weren’t supposed to be seated close to the stage because our ticket is like a General admission ticket. But we came in a bit late, around 4PM. 2 hours before the show, but yes, it’s already considered late. And they have already let the “General Admission” people in.
So we sat at the Green area, near the stage. And prayed to God that it’s free seating. But well if all else fails we still have “We’re-foreigners-we-don’t-understand-sorry” plan prepared. Turns out it’s free seating!
Our place was on the left side, the only downside part to it that is if the performers are on the leftmost side, we won’t be able to see them.
SM TOWN family love from fans. The most exhausted people of that day are the SM Town fans, I swear.
They were chanting since around 2PM or earlier. CRAAAZZZZZYYYY! I didn’t see f(x) fans though, just banners. I don’t know their official color or what their fans are called.
And wow, I was really surprised on the Cube fans. They are everywhere. I didn’t know that BEAST’s fan base is this big.
Of course, my fellow pris, Primadonna! They are so pretty with the Pentasticks! <3.
I wasn’t originally going to the dream concert so I only knew that Heechul is the MC. I got the surprise of my life when I saw Song Joongki! Dude, it’s Song-freakin’-Joongki! Who is major hot by the way!
Girl groups were okay, but I wasn’t really a big fan so I just cheered a bit for them.
My Top 3 girl group performance would have to be After School, T-Ara & 4minute.
I was shouting Nana & Bekah interchangeably when After School were performing. LONG LEGS IS LONG. HOT GIRLS ARE HOT and most importantly, IT’S GAHEE BITCHES.
The stage presence was incredible and they were very much synchronized. Barbie dolls with a Bratz personality.
T-Ara! My fierce babies! I was half expecting Bo Peep Bo Peep but they didn’t perform that. I love them though. They were really energetic and mannnn, was Jiyeon hot or hot? She really looked like a diva there even though she only has an expressionless face.
1-2-3-4 4! 4MINUTE girls! I love these girls to pieces and seeing Gaeul Gaeul-ah live is super worth it! The energy, the facial expression, the dance! Perfect! Oh well, not entirely perfect though. Their knee pads in real-life kinda look weird. But yeah, who cares.
On a side note, I liked f(x)’s performance too. Only because my eyes was on Heechul the entire time while he was dancing along to the songs while looking at the girls.
Next up, BOY GROUPS aka testosterone overload! UKISS, BEAST, SHINEE, 2PM, FT ISLAND and HOMIN. Sorry if I have offended other fans, I don’t call them TVXQ. I only use TVXQ for a five-member band.
UKISS is the forever opening act. The boys looked mighty fine in their white costumes. 0330 is such a cute song. I rapped in my seat during Eli’s part (well, at least I tried to). And they sang Manmanhani which got the audience hyped up. It will never be the same w/o Alexander & Ki Bum though. But nonetheless, it was fine.
I’m not a big BEAST fan but I love their songs. I was so caught up with FT-I’s comeback that’s why I haven’t fan girl over their new song, Fiction. The funny thing was, it was my first time to hear the full song during the concert. The gliding or whatever step you call it was really cute. Plus, I was so busy screaming to my seatmates that they had someone double for Hyunseung. Man, he looked different! I was screaming, “It’s not him! It’s not him!” during the whole song. I got back my senses when they started performing Shock. A personal favorite of mine. I called Knick, because it’s also my mini-bday gift to her. I was chanting w/ the B2uties during the whole song. And every once in awhile, I get distracted w/ Kikwang’s guns and Dongwoon’s perfection.
Then it’s my sister and Sam’s fave boy group SHINEE! My cute cute boys! Key’s eyes and smirk were really orgasmic! Like insanely. But I have to say, my attention was diverted to Taemin. He’s not cute anymore, he’s handsome now. TAEMIN IS A MAN. Sam was shouting the whole time that Taemin got him pregnant. Onew and Jonghyun’s vocals were really good though. I was so hyper during the Lucifer because I love the song. The Hello performance gave me a chance to stare and bathe in their awesomeness while they were performing.
What time is it? It’s 2PM! There was a bit of confusion for a while because the Hottest opened their lightstick when they heard that the next performer was 2PM. The effect was nice, it’s like seeing stars on a black sky. It’s because they have black balloons and white light sticks. But to their surprise, the brusque and macho guys were not 2PM but Kim Taewoo’s backup dancer. The Hottest turned their light sticks off one by one upon realizing their mistake.
2PM looked really chic and cool while they were performing the songs. I am a Wooyoung-biased by heart but his stage presence is not that great, surprisingly. 2PM’s Junsu is actually good looking (sorry Bianca for not believing you). Chansung and Taecyeon killed me with their hotness though! The arms and smirk combo killed me, I wanted to kiss the smirks off their faces. Mannnnnnnn, gotta love these boys!
The next is the place where I want to get stranded, FT ISLAND! Make some noise baby! I was hyperventilating even before they started because I can see Jaejin and Seunghyun on standby at the side of the stage while the MC are still talking. The red pants and coat is not hard to miss. Hongki’s vocal is no doubt, one of the besttttt evarrrrr! Like seriously! My first time to see Hello Hello live! Jaejin’s awesome stoic face while rapping killed me. My boy will be the death of me. Seriously. Our reunion after a year! <3. After their performance, I was so drained. I teared up a bit because of too many emotions. It was all worth it. I was pleasantly surprised that Hongki let Heechul sang a few lines from I Hope. CHOCOBALL love <3.
And Jaejin was insanely hot w/ his blonde hair and he was rocking the stage like he fcuken owns it and he was so awesome and I love my boy so much and wait….. I did say he was hot right?
And last but not the least is HOMIN. Homin is my bias in TVXQ. Yunho is really a dance machine w/ awesome facial expressions. Powerful moves from the God himself. CHANGMIN was smoking smexing hot! His voice is <3 that will make you go @_@. His smile is will really melt your heart. His smile is somewhat between a boyish grin and a smirk. His voice was super super super great too. I mean, after all that hard core dancing, he still managed to belt out the high notes? That’s crazy awesome. It kept wondering though if it would have been different if all 5 member were there.
I was ten times poorer after the concert because I bought train tickets, food, light sticks, balloons and stayed at a hostel for a night. But I was happy. Insanely happy.
And I was supposed to make the title; The night my ovaries exploded. But I have an image to keep. So unless you read this whole goddamn essay blog post, you won’t know the real me. LOL. Though I bet a lot of fan girls out there had there ovaries like this
after watching the concert. I now only need to see ZE:A, MBLAQ, Big Bang & 2NE1 to complete my must-see artists here in Korea! I promise to keep making fan accounts.
